Her victory in the primary proves that Connecticut residents want an elected official with substantial experience in the private sector. Linda served as the Chief Executive Officer of World Wrestling Entertainment, responsible for expanding the company from a 13-person operation to a corporation with over 500 employees.

Alexi Giannoulias, the Democratic Candidate for Senate in Chicago, was involved in the lending of $20 million in non-performing loans to convicted felons already sentenced to serve time in a federal prison.  Broadway Bank, founded by Alexi’s father over 40 years ago, was taken over by the FDIC in April of this year after failing to raise $85 million of new capitalization funds.

President Obama named 18 corporate executives to his export council, a panel established in March to help advise his administration on how to double U.S. exports, now totaling $1,046 trillion, by 2015. Though economists find it unlikely that such a rapid increase will be achieved, emphasis on expanding exporting industries is well intentioned and will contribute significantly to U.S. economic recovery.
