Religious Right Third Party

The Religious Right showed its true, political colors this week, displaying no loyalty or respect whatsoever for the political party that has effectively carried its water for the past several decades.  After years of using the Republican Party to push a far-right social agenda, activists such as James Dobson, Tony Perkins, and Richard Viguerie are apparently willing and eager to abandon the party at the first glimpse of moderation.  These social fundamentalists claim that if Rudy Giuliani becomes the nominee for president, they reserve the right to support a third-party candidate, effectively handing the White House to the Democrats.

That these men would absolve themselves of any responsibility to repairing the Republican Party and preparing for future elections is extremely disappointing especially considering their far-right views are rightly to blame for the poor standing in which our party now finds itself.  They have completely shifted the party¹s focus and now threaten to walk away from it claiming moral superiority.

Never in my experience have centrist Republicans threatened to abandon the party over a particular policy platform.  Instead, we have always worked to change our party from within.  That is because no matter what influences we find undesirable, we know that on the whole, the Republican Party is made up of the best ideas to lead our country. To run out on the Republican Party over one single policy difference shows an utter lack of reason, political acumen, and loyalty.

Website is still under

Website is still under construction and this is not an attempt to promote the website. I have for the past couple of of years been a member of a conservative rightwing forum. I am the lone moderate that hasn't either given up, or been kicked off. These people are nuts! Their objective now is to supposedly take back the party from the Rino's or Republicans in name only. They feel like we highjacked their party from them and their going to do what ever it takes to drive us out of the party. If they did they couldn't elect anybody. If any of you guys would care to go to go http://www.gopusa.com and try to help me convice these people that their the one's that need to join us the true majority of the party in defeating the Democrat canidate in November.

I am surprised that there

I am surprised that there are those who expected anything more out of the “fundies” than what they have done and are doing. While feigning allegiance to Ronald Reagan, the moral jihadists led by Jerry Falwell, Paul Weyrich, and Ed Feulner, Jr. had their own agenda, which had more to do with the creation of a fundamentalist Christian theocracy than traditional Republican principles.

Am I the only one old enough to remember that most of the “Contract on America” crowd (Dick Armey, Trent Lott, Newt Gringrich, Tom Delay, et al) are re-constituted Dixiecrats? As demonstrated during the past seven years, the neo-cons are more concerned with funneling vast sums of taxpayer money to the multi-national corporations that abetted the subversion of the American electoral process in 2000, providing unquestioning and unreasoned support to the nation of Israel, and making permanent the triumph of neo-conservative ideology.
