Environmental expert speaks to candidates' energy policies

Former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman met with Seacoast Republicans Thursday and encouraged them to embrace their “green” history and make sure voters knows the environment is not a Democratic issue, it’s a country-wide issue.
Whitman, who governed the Garden state from 1994 to 2001, was the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency for the Bush administration from 2001 to 2003. She resigned from her position following resistance from the administration on air and water pollution controls.
